MAWP Welcomes New Watershed Coordinator

Arne Hultquist has accepted the Grand & San Juan County Watershed Coordinator position at Utah State University Extension. His predecessor Tessa Groff resigned to pursue other life obligations. MAWP members would like to thank Tessa for her service and offer congratulations on her accomplishments. The MAWP would also like to wish her well in her future endeavors.
Arne has been a Moab resident for two years. Recently he has worked as a River Guide and Wildlife Technician in the greater Moab area. He has had extensive experience in water monitoring throughout the State of Utah and has also worked as a Policy Analyst for the State of Utah Governor’s Public Lands Policy and Coordination Office.
When asked about the MAWP and his new position, Arne said “Tessa has done wonderful things in this position including leaving it poised to move forward with excellent partners and promising projects. I am excited about the opportunities and challenges of working in watersheds located in desert and alpine ecosystems where water is rare and valuable to so many people.”
